Endowment Fund


The Monsignor John Lodge McHugh Endowment Fund was established in 1992 as part of a capital fund drive. The Fund is set up to receive designated gifts, bequests, or donations of any kind for the long-term support of St. Amelia Parish. The endowment fund includes a general fund, a gathering space fund, and scholarship funds.

                 Gathering Space Fund for the construction of a Parish gathering space
                 Scholarship Funds provide tuition assistance for students to attend St.
                     Amelia School

  • Father Leon Scholarship Fund established by Rev. Leon J. Biernat
  • Rita J. Smith Scholarship Fund established in memory of Rita J. Smith 
  • McGillicuddy Scholarship Fund established by Charles and Alma McGillicuddy

Planned Giving
Planned giving is a gift during lifetime or at death as part of your financial or estate planning. Your gift can include cash, appreciated securities, life insurance, or other property. Some benefits of planned giving include: 

                  You can contribute appreciated property, like stock or real estate, get a tax deduction for the full market value of the gift, and pay no capital gains tax
                   You can create a life-income gift where you give property and keep a continuing source of income for life, and receive tax benefits
                  You can give property at death, such as a beneficiary designation in a life insurance policy, and be exempt from estate tax
