Some exciting news is that we have hired Mrs. Catie Wagner as the Executive Secretary for St. Amelia Parish effective June 4, 2018. She brings with her a myriad of talents and gifts and will be a great addition to our St. Amelia Team.
I am delighted and honored to become part of the St. Amelia team as Parish Executive Secretary. Having been part of many teams, the word TEAM has many meanings for me, at St. Amelia’s it is “Together Everyone Achieves More.”
I reside in Wheatfield with my husband, David, our four children, Benjamin, Alexandria, Emmett and Franklin. Benjamin, Alexandria and Emmett will be attending St. Amelia’s School in the Fall. We also have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a turtle. I grew up attending St. Christopher’s School, then Holy Angels Academy and went on to graduate from SUNY Brockport College with my Bachelors of Science in American History. Throughout my youth, I enjoyed playing sports from soccer, basketball to badminton and even tried swinging a golf club which, I found was not one of my better sports. As a family we are students at Jindo Martial Arts, each on our own path to our Black Belt. I also enjoy traveling to our family house in the Adirondack’s.
My previous work experience includes scooping ice cream at Ben and Jerry’s in the Outlet Mall and childcare, through these positions I learned to work with various different groups of people and having communication as one of the key components to helping the team run smoothly. I have had administrative assistant positions, at St. Francis of Assisi School in the City of Tonawanda and most recently St. Gregory the Great Parish. Through these positions I have grown tremendously in my faith; being able to serve people from giving communion to the homebound and masses, lecturing at funerals, prayer services, major roles with various events during Lent and filling in where needed.
I want to thank Fr. Sibby, the Parish Trustees, the Search Committee and Parish Staff for giving me this awesome opportunity to be a part of the St. Amelia’s Team. I look forward to serving at St. Amelia Parish for many years to come.
