We are pleased to announce that Ryan Keating will be joining our parish family for his pastoral year experience. His pastoral year begins July 1 when he will participate in his CPE (Clinical Pastoral Experience) Program at a hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. till mid-August. His time with us begins August 26.
You may ask: what is a pastoral year experience? A seminarian after completing two years of his theological studies is assigned to a parish for his pastoral year. It is during this time that Ryan will be able to experience and participate in many aspects of St. Amelia Parish life. It is my hope that Ryan will be able to get a flavor of Ministry by being involved in: Parish Outreach, Youth, School, Religious Education, attend meetings and so much more. It is my hope to share with him visitation to the sick, pastoral visits for the anointing of the sick, funerals, wakes, liturgies, and cemetery services, preparing couples for marriage and whatever else may come our way. Ryan will live at St. Amelia in the rectory with Father Don, our new parochial vicar and myself. The rectory is our home where we will share prayer, meals and brotherhood together. Please welcome Ryan Keating into our Parish Family and Team.
