MASS, PRAYER & CONFESSION TIMES

We offer Mass & Prayer Liturgy in person or via live stream.

As of June 6, 2021, the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass has been lifted and all practicing Catholics should be invited to resume regular, in-person worship. However, you can watch Liturgical Celebrations live from the comfort of your home on any device (computer, tablet, smart phone) via our YouTube channel. Saturdays: 3:30 – 4:30 pm, and at other times by request

MASS INTENTIONS

You may offer a Mass of special intention or for the deceased at either weekday Mass or most of the Masses on Sunday. Requests should be made in the parish office during the week from 9 am to 4 pm. The suggested stipend is $15.00.

Children’s Catechumenate

Designed for older children who are preparing for: Baptism, First Penance and first Eucharist.  This program takes place on Sunday Mornings following the Liturgy of The Word at 9:00am Mass.

Adult Catechumenate

This ministry welcomes any adults who wish to become members of the Catholic Church and for adult Catholics who wish to complete their initiation into the Church by receiving the sacraments of: Eucharist and Confirmation. Sessions take place at Sunday Mornings following of The Word at 9:00am Mass. Parishoners can help the candidates by serving as “Gospel Sharers” that is, by reflecting on a given Sunday Gospel adn sharing their thoughts with the candidates. Volunteer speakers general serve once a year.

Adult Confirmation

This preparation is for adults who have made their First Communion and who are practicing Catholics, but have missed Confirmation. St. Amelia Parish conducts six sessions on a weeknight at 7:00pm during the fall season. Confirmation usually takes place in November.

BIBLE STUDY, DEVOTION GROUPS & RESOURCES

At St. Amelia parish we offer so many different options to increase your faith and become a part of the Church Community.  Bible study groups, devotional groups & ministries, community service groups, and so much more!  There is something for everyone and all are welcome!

Scripture Study & Book Discussion Group

Scripture study group is offered throughout the year and announcements are placed in the weekly bulletin. We include a variety of resources such as: Dynamic Catholic, Ascension Press (Bible Timeline) or Bishop Baron (Word on Fire). We offer sessions during the day and also in the evening to accomodate schedules.

Beer & Bible Study Group

This gathering of men meets twice a month on Sundays at 8:00pm in The Lighthouse to learn more about their faith and connect with others who are trying to live as men of God as the.  the group discusses the Gospel and shares some ale together. All men over 21 are welcome to join!

Women, Wine and The Word

All women over the age of 21 are welcome to join us as we grow in friendship and knowledge of our faith in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.  There is no charge.  Meetings are announced in the weekly bulletin and are usually held on Tuesday evenings.  Topics include: Wisdom, Ephesians, Saints as Role Models, as well as other topics of interest.  We have large and small groups and conversations while enjoying our favorite wines.  Coffee and Tea is also served.

Emmaus Men’s Spirituality Program

On the second Saturday of each month, men gather for a continental breakfast in the rectory meeting room at 8:30am.  A guest speaker gives a presentation for about 40minutes which is followed by an optional discussion period. The program is open to all men of any age; no advance registration is necessary.

Hearts Afire Mercy Group

This parish based program from the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception is a small group faith renewal program,  It is designed to help us live the Catholic life of faith, charity and the sacraments; to set our hearts on fire with love of God and neighbor and to do works of mercy in our families, parishes and communities.

Women at the Well

This group meets on the third Saturday of the month, September through May immediately following the 8:00am Mass. There is a continential breakfast followed by some group prayer, a guest speaker, and then a discussion with an opportunity for questions and fellowship. 

The name of the group comes fromt he story found in the Gospel of John, Chapter 4.  The samaritan women of this story of this story went on to lead many conversions through her zeal and love for God.

THE LENDING LIBRARY

The library is located in the Church narthex and provides books a videos for adults and children to take at their liesure.  The Lending Library operates on an “honor system” and is open all week.  Adjacent to the library is a display of pamphlets and audio CDs available for purchase.

Miraculous Medal Novena & Adoration

Monday evenings beginning at 6:30pm all are invited to gather in the Church for Adoration, Benediction and the recitation of the Miraculous Medal Novena.  The sacrament of reconciliation is also available.

Precious Blood of Jesus Prayer Ministry

This ministry has been meeting every week for over 40 years to pray for parishioners, the sick, the nation and also special intentions.  This gathering of lay people enjoy scripture, psalms, and songs of praise as they pray together every Tuesday from 2:00-3:30pm in the crying room of the Church. everyone is welcoem to join or stop in for prayer.

Two Hearts Devotion

All parishoners are invited to join us for twelve hours of continuous Euchoristic Adoration from 8:00pm on the first Friday of every month to 8:00am on the fisrt Saturday.  This ministry is organized by the Emmaus Men’s group and sign up sheets are available each month in the narthex. Come join us for prayer and quiet time with our Lord in His presence.
