Journey to Christmas – helping those in need

We would like to thank the Journey to Christmas committee of Scott Kapperman, Arlene Meyerhofer, Caite Wagner, Amy Lepertine, Kathy Waite, and all of the volunteers who made this event such a great success!

Over 225 cars attended and made their way through the Journey to Christmas.  There were four stops resembling the weeks of Advent: Joy, Peace, Hope & Love where visitors received family packets filled with activities, an Advent 2020 book of daily reflections practices and prayers.  There were some special candy canes handed out to children attending as well and were doanted by Tops Friendly Markets.

Food donations were collected for our St. Vincent De Paul food pantry along with warm winter items for our St. Amelia Outreach program tohelp those in need this holiday season. Monetary donations of $300 were also collected to contribute to the cause.

Families brought their baby Jesus fromt heir home nativity sets which Fr. Sibby and Fr. Sibby gaving a blessing over. We had a special appearance from the Brighton Fire Department and even St. Nicholas himself was able to make time to stop by our event for a little visit

A special thank you goes out to our Holy Name Society, as they donated our wonderful tree which is anchored on our front lawn beautifully lit for all to see.  Their loving effort of contributing to the light display and time for decorating is much appreciated.
