Mrs. Kathryn McIntyre named new principal of St. Amelia School

To my fellow St. Amelia School & Parish Community –

After consultation with the Principal Search Committee, I am happy to announce that Mrs. Kathryn McIntrye has been named the new principal of St. Amelia School effective January 3, 2022.

I am excited to have Katie join our St. Amelia’s family. I know she will bring her dynamic personality, her experiences in education, and her energy to her new role as our Principal. The Search Committee and I unanimously endorsed Katie and believe that she will build on the history of our school and lead us forward to greater accomplishments and heights. With Mrs. McIntrye’s leadership, spirituality, experience, drive, and energy, we will witness the continued development and growth of our school.

I believe that Mrs. McIntrye will challenge all of us (faculty, staff, pastor, parents, and children) to use our talents in working with her as we grow as a school family and team together; continuing to make St. Amelia School, the school of choice in Tonawanda and its neighboring communities.

Mrs. McIntyre shared with me that she is thrilled to join our St. Amelia School Community which she described as extraordinary.

I quote Katie: “I can assure you that I share in St. Amelia’s School Community’s mission to provide a quality education that instills in students a spirit of Jesus Christ. You, the parents with the faculty and staff, are an essential part of executing this mission.”

She further states: “the principalship at St. Amelia provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom. I look forward to sharing my Catholic faith with our students as well, one of many reasons I am committed to Catholic education and leading St. Amelia School into its best years yet.”

Katie went on to echo: “I firmly believe that every child can excel and that the partnership between home and school, combined with the critical teachings of our Catholic faith, builds confidence in students to use their powers to shape their future and become responsible citizens in our community. Furthermore, I believe that our success as a school community works best when home and school work collaboratively. I look forward to getting to know each of the families that make up this community and thank you personally for choosing St. Amelia School.”

As we begin a new era under the guidance and direction of Mrs. Kathryn McIntrye, let us look forward to this exciting time and ask the blessings and guidance of our loving God, the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the intercession of St. Amelia.

Many Blessings,

Fr. Sibby
