RIGHT OF
CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS

There four steps and three periods of RCIA are:

  • The Period of Inquirey, and the first step being The Rite of Acceptance,

  • The Period of Catechumens, and the second step being The Rite of Enrollment,

  • The Period of Purification, and the third step being The Celebration of Sacraments

Outlined below are the RCIA programs and steps we offer here at St. Amelia Parish.

RCIA – Adult Catechumenate

RCIA-adult-1024x493.jpg

This ministry welcomes any adults who wish to become members of the Catholic Church and for adult Catholics who wish to complete their initiation into the Church by receiving the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation. Sessions take place following the Liturgy of the Word at the 9:00 am Sunday Mass. Parishioners can help the candidates by serving as ‘Gospel Sharers,’ that is, by reflecting on a given Sunday Gospel and sharing their thoughts with the candidates. Volunteer speakers generally serve once a year.

St. Amelia Parish conducts six sessions at 7:00 pm on a weeknight during the fall season. This preparation is for adults who have made their First Communion and are practicing Catholics, but have missed Confirmation.
