This past year has been extremely challenging for all of us. At St. Amelia’s our largest ministry, St. Amelia’s School, has also had to deal with much uncertainty and concern about opening/re-opening for in person learning. While the staff, administration, school board, and Home School Association have been working diligently to welcome our students back on January 4th, there is still one more thing we as a parish family can do to support all these efforts of preparation; pray.

January 4th, our reopening date, is also the feast day of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton who is the patron of Catholic Schools. We are inviting all those interested to pray along with us a novena to St. Elizabeth asking her prayers for protection and safety for the reopening of the school. This will begin on December 27, 2020 and conclude on January 4, 2021. The prayer is here below:

O God our Father, glorify here upon earth your servant Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, by manifesting the power of her intercession through the favor we now implore:
That the reopening of St. Amelia School may enjoy divine protection for all students, faculty, staff, and families against the coronavirus pandemic.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.
Amen.
